We have gathered several sources of Information on how to best prepare your family for a wide spectrum of possible abnormal emergency, or even disaster scenarios. Much of what you can do for your family can be done in small steps, with a minimal amount of time, effort, and money. Our goal is to provide you the information so that you can start to wisely prepare yourselves and your home. Every Month we will concentrate on one item that your family can readily acquire, learn about & implement into your family preparedness. Small and Simple Things

10 Essential Elements of Emergency Preparedness:
- 96 Hour Kit : Every Family Member has a complete kit & stored in a known place. Should be Periodically Checked to ensure Food, Water, & Clothes are up to date.
- Family Emergency Plan : Every Family has a complete plan that is known & practiced. Included in this plan is an Emergency Communication Plan & "EDITH" Plan
- Extra Water : Each Family Member has a Two Week Supply of Water.
- Food Supply : An "Extended Pantry" Or Food Storage that can keep the Family Fed for 3 Months or Longer (when ever possible) of "Food that they normally eat."
- First Aid Kit : Every Home & Car has a kit. Everyone knows how to use it and Basic First Aid.
- Water Purification & Sanitation : Knowledge & Items needed to ensure safety and comfort.
- Utilities Shut Off & Alternate Power / Light / Heat Sources : Knowledge, Equipment & Tools necessary : WHY / WHEN / HOW
- Automobile Emergency Kit : 96 Hour Kit, Jumper Cable, Tow Rope, & Small Mechanics Kit.
- "Grab & Go Kit" : Transportable File System of Vital Records ( Family Info, / Financial Info / Legal Documents )
